Woodbury Country Club Wedding Photos // Sissi + Denny

We met Sissi years ago working alongside one another at numerous weddings. Over the years, she has become one of our favorite hair and makeup artists on the east coast! This year, we had the privilege of working with her again--at her own wedding.

Of course, as the beauty guru that she is, Sissi prettied herself up for her own wedding day with a vintage style that she rocked like none other. Seeing her groom all tidied up in tux and bow-tie (as opposed to his regular ensemble of plaid shorts and flip flops), she was all smiles and ready to sass it up for our cameras....and also for the youngest "Uncle Bob" we've ever met at a wedding! But unlike others that would get in our way, this little guy made everybody's day a little bit brighter (smile). And we have to say, from copying everything the professionals are doing, this little guy might actually learn a thing or two!

Sissi and Denny had a sweet pond-side ceremony at the Woodbury Country Club, and walked down the aisle as husband and wife showered by a thousand mini yarn pom poms that the bride made herself! It must have been a painstakingly meticulous project, but at least, that must feel much nicer than being showered by rice, I would assume! After all the traditions, it was finally time for the party of their lives--Sissi and Denny style. We had such a good time enjoying the party with their entourage, including a couple of our past brides and grooms, that by the end of the night, our cheeks hurt from laughing so hard! They sure know how to get the party going. The secret? Open bar (smile).

Congratulations, you guys! We're so honored to have been your photographers. You are one talented bride, and we can't wait to run into you at other weddings again!

The Langham Hotel Pasadena Wedding Photos // Anna + Jeremy

We. Love. California. Not just because of the abundance of great food and perfect weather, but because we get to shoot weddings like this one, at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena.

We first met Anna and Jeremy when they came to us for their cherry blossom engagement session last spring. Since then, we have become wonderful friends, which made it even more fun for us to document their wedding!

Anna stunned us all with her custom-made ruffle-happy gown. It even brought her groom to tears. And we're not talking about the one-drop-on-the-cheek kind--he was genuinely choked up throughout the entire ceremony, swollen eyes and all. It made the ceremony that much more intimate, special, and real....and of course, we loved it (smile). When we become friends with our couples, it means we understand their emotions that much better, and most importantly, we are able to capture what is truly meaningful to them. Knowing Jeremy, we knew those tears were true (he never cries!). It almost made us cry, too.

We can honestly say that Anna and Jeremy have found their soul mates. They know how to make each other smile. They teach each other how to love. And they share a lot of "laugh wrinkles" from making each other's lives that much more colorful. Congratulations, you beautiful couple! We're so honored to be able to call you friends and have shared in such a memorable day in your lives

Columbia Faculty House Wedding Photos // Details

More often than not, when we show up in the bridal suite greeted with a pair of shoes as fabulous as these Jimmy Choo's, we know that this bride has impeccable taste, with details we would fall in love with. Sure enough, our instincts were right.

Jane and Reuben planned a beautiful wedding centered around the campus where they had first met and fell in love, at Columbia University in New York City. Of course, tying the knot in the university's magnificent chapel was the perfect choice. Their reception was held at Columbia University's very own Faculty House, a beautiful space with the most stunning view of Manhattan. Guests were greeted at the door with adorable calligraphy escort cards and a wedding cake that made our jaws drop. Dozens of intricately crafted sugar flowers cascaded down the side of the cake in the most amazing way, and the entire masterpiece was just sitting there beckoning us to photograph every single little detail it had to offer. Every direction we turned, there was something that lit up our eyes and drew our lenses closer. Everything was so charming and absolutely perfect. And seeing how happy Jane and Reuben were at the end of the day, all the hard work it took to put together this wedding day, in all its detailed glory, was totally worth it. Even better when you get to relive it over and over again through these pictures!

Valley Regency Wedding Photos // Joanne + Kevin

It was a surprise walking into the bride's hotel room the morning of the wedding and finding her in a pair of running shorts, sneakers, and her dad's over-sized dress shirt--with the biggest smile on her face. I could tell Joanne was excited about her wedding day, even though she started out the day in such a peculiar outfit (smile). The men showed up soon after the bride put on her intricate Chinese bridal outfit (made authentically in Hong Kong!), and were greeted at the door with chocolate-covered brussel sprouts, a lady's sundress, and a love song that Kevin had to serenade to a member of his entourage--all the while being rated by a tough crowd of bridesmaids. As the day began with some twisted faces and good laughs, we knew that even with the gloomy weather, we were going to have a great day. Sure enough, the rain even cleared up just long enough for Joanne and Kevin to have the outdoor ceremony they had always dreamed of. And they couldn't have looked happier.

Highlawn Pavilion Wedding Photos // Therese + Paolo

We love it when the bride and groom put in a little extra effort to make their wedding personal, memorable, and just a little different! One of our favorites is when the whole wedding is built around a central theme--like Therese and Paolo's bike-themed wedding. Plus the ever-so-chic combo of gray and yellow details, it was a win-win. They even named each of their guest tables after different bike parts--I had no idea a bike had that many parts! Thanks to the creative bride and the groom's irresistible swagger, there were so many incredible moments and details that we enjoyed throughout the day. Not to mention, their bridal party was equally fierce and fabulously fearless, making this one party nobody would want to miss. Coincidentally, Snooki from Jersey Shore was having dinner downstairs on the same evening, and the bartender almost kicked us out while we were taking pictures on the balcony, thinking we were the paparazzi. Eek!

Jericho Terrace Wedding Photos // Annie + Mike

Annie and Mike's big day was all about making the best in every situation. Sometimes, that meant making magic happen in the most unexpected of places, but most of the time, we were just there to capture the magic between two blissfully happy people ready to make a life-long commitment to one another. Of course, and their 5-hour party to party to follow.

We are always thankful for whatever circumstances the location or weather throws at us, because it pushes us to be the best photographers we can be. We have to think fast, pull together all our resources, and somehow still manage to make the experience fun and memorable for our bride and groom. So even though it poured for most of Annie and Mike's wedding day, it helped us create images that sang (in the rain). When it comes down to it, we realize it's not only our efforts that matter, but it also takes one fun, adventurous, and fearless couple to make it work. You guys rock!

Wilshire Grand Wedding Photos // Details

You've already seen how fabulous Rachel's dress was. Now let's show you how magical the rest of her details were!

You might think it takes a whole lot to make your wedding beautiful, and while some weddings will go all out for the win, Rachel and Pat took a much more personal approach, and it was all that more meaningful. The secret to a memorable wedding is not just about choosing the perfect palette or the most spectacular blossoms (although, Rachel did that, too!), but it's about making the wedding a celebration of you as a couple. So all it takes is a little bit of soul-searching and identifying something special about yourselves, and all the little things start to matter. Like wrapping a piece of your mother's wedding dress around your bouquet, and wearing cuff links with photos of somebody you wish could have been at your wedding. Walking down the aisle with these precious items so close to you makes it all the more endearing. This hockey-lover and shopaholic also brought together their favorite things and made it part of their wedding day as an ice sculpture and their custom cake topper! The rest is all about setting the mood, and you've got a party that's fun, memorable, and uniquely yours. Of course, a fancy dessert buffet never hurt anybody either (smile).

Douglaston Manor Wedding Photos // Erin + Andrew

After Erin and Andrew's epic engagement session in Albany, New York, we were super excited to see them again at their wedding at Douglaston Manor in Douglaston, NY. Especially after finding out that Erin was going to serenade her groom during the ceremony (that she wrote herself)! Unfortunately, our photographs weren't able to capture the audio, but it was so touching and very memorable. However, I think we can all agree that what stole the show was Andrew's mother. She is the coolest Asian mom (with hip, red Ray Bans) we've ever seen stir up the crowd at a wedding--everybody loved her to death. It's no wonder Andrew is as cool as he is, and he found himself a drop-dead-gorgeous bride, wearing, of course, the most stunning dress from Melissa Sweet (love!). It was a celebration they had been waiting a lifetime for. And it was definitely worth the wait.

Side story: Sometimes when you rent tuxes from a menswear company, they can get the order a little wrong. Or in this case, two sizes too small. And so Andrew's morning with the guys involved a swiss army knife, a huge slit down the back of his groomsman's vest, and a couple of good laughs to last a lifetime. Too bad they had to return the vest after the wedding...it would have been the greatest wedding keepsake ever (smile).

DUMBO, Brooklyn Engagement Photos // Diana + Devin

Brooklyn Bridge Park was were it all began for this (super) cute couple. Diana and Devin got engaged here just a few months ago, so it was the perfect setting for their engagement session! It was a gorgeous, sunny day, and they were awesomely adorable and fierce all at the same time. And don't you agree that they look like they're straight out of a fashion catalog? We had such a fun afternoon with them. And we always get awesome pictures when we have a good time (smile). High five!

Mountain View Grand Wedding Photos // Beth + Nick

Twins share almost everything in life. Besides having the same birthday, they apparently also share the same groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers, and wedding photographers. We haven't experienced deja vu quite like this before, especially since the bride also happened to be a twin! We knew we were seeing double last year at Amy and Jon's wedding, but this time, it was more than just one set of familiar faces! Beth and Nick tied the knot before a majestic view at the Mountain View Grand in Whitefield, New Hampshire. For this bride and groom, New Hampshire was not just a beautiful place to declare their love for one another; it brought back fond memories of sipping hot chocolate and playing checkers together during a past anniversary getaway. On their wedding day, of course, he let Beth win the game. Or at least, that's how we'll remember it (smile).

Maritime Parc Wedding Photos // Details

After many years of traditional banquet halls and outdated wedding venues, new things are finally happening in Jersey. The brand-spanking-new Maritime Parc in Jersey City is the perfect venue for anybody looking for a cool, contemporary space for their wedding. It's beautiful, modern and has an amazing view of Liberty State Park and the Manhattan skyline! One of our favorite parts about the space was the geometric paneled ceilings--it definitely added a touch of modern flair to the ceremony and reception set up without being fussy or over-the-top. Marcella and Nick did a spectacular job glamming it up for their wedding, with purple details as far as the eye could see. The adorable cupcake tower and candy favors were a sweet touch to it all.

The bride's ensemble was a beautiful Blue by Enzoani gown topped off with her mother's gorgeous lace cathedral veil (as her "something old"); and we loved the groom's black-and-white wing-tipped shoes! Definitely suited up and ready to party.

Columbia University Faculty House Wedding Photos // Jane + Reuben

We're seeing a lot of mini fans this summer hiding in brides and bridesmaids' pockets. And for good reason, too, with this summer being so warm and steamy! At least with these bright, sunny days, us photographers couldn't be more happy. Especially when it makes the bride look this amazing. I mean, look at her--she is literally glowing!

Jane and Reuben first met during business school at Columbia University in New York City. So what better place to tie the knot that on their very campus where it all began. It's also a no-brainer when your campus chapel is that gorgeous! After meeting in the Central Park Conservatory Gardens for some pre-ceremony portraits, the bride made her emotional walk down the aisle at the stunning Columbia University Chapel (in the most blinged-out pair of Jimmy Choo's, of course!) to meet her husband-to-be...and their hot pink entourage. This bridal party really made it a memorable, touching, and undeniably fun day for Jane and Reuben. Like making everybody yell "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam Seng!" at the top of their lungs while raising their glasses to the bride and groom Singaporean style. With a live band, entertaining Pae Baek ceremony, and enough dancing to go around, their dinner reception at the Columbia University Faculty House was a definite win. In every Singaporean, Korean, and American way.

Wilshire Grand Wedding Photos // Rachel + Pat

Weddings can make any girl feel like royalty, especially when you have a fairy-tale wedding like Rachel and Pat! The bride's sparkly, tulle ballgown by Lazaro was nothing short of magical. Plus the amazing jeweled hairpiece, her gorgeous lavender and peach bouquet, a sharp-looking groom (in a tailed tux!), and we've got a wedding worthy of a princess and her prince charming. And how appropriate that they'll be visiting the brand new Disney resort in Hawaii for their honeymoon!

Rachel and Pat's reception was nothing short of fabulous either. It was probably the first time we've ever seen people plank at a wedding....on top of each other. With the bride on top. And somehow, the bouquet and garter were caught by a daughter and father pair for some priceless (and jaw-dropping) moments! It was definitely a magical and memorable day, and we're so honored to have been there to share it with them! Rachel and Pat, you both looked like you were worth a million dollars, and we hope you felt that way as well (smile). Cheers!

Rattlesnake Club Wedding Photos // Jennifer + Paul

This was our second time in Detroit this summer. When we were here back in May, we met Jennifer and Paul for the first time and immediately fell in love with them during their engagement session in Ann Arbor. "Cute" is hardly a good enough word to describe how much they make us smile. Seeing them all giddy, happy, and with butterflies in their stomach on their wedding day--we could barely stand it.

One of our favorite moments when the bride and groom are getting ready is the gift exchange. Well, in this case, it wasn't so much of an exchange as it was the groom surprising his bride with an awesome gift. But it's these little things, like a simple hand-written card and an iPad, that can start the day with a few happy tears and excitement to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Well, in this case, it was Jennifer seeing her groom blindfolded in the hotel lobby (so they could take the limo together to the park for their First Look). After exchanging their vows at their waterfront ceremony at the Rattlesnake Club, they lit their unity candle and finally became one. Well, in this case, it was Paul lighting the candle himself (smile).

So maybe there were a couple of things that were a little different than what we expected. But in the end, Jennifer and Paul couldn't be happier to call each other "husband" and "wife". And all we could say was--cute!
