One of the guilty pleasures of our job is traveling to gorgeous places like Cancun. And despite the heat and extreme humidity (like freaking out when our lenses started fogging up the moment we stepped outside for the ceremony), Cancun was as gorgeous as we thought it would be. Daina and Jeff's beach wedding at the CasaMagna Marriott Resort couldn't have been more beautiful with the pure aqua color of the ocean as their backdrop. After their night of festivities, we took advantage of being out there and did a day-after session around the area. We stumbled upon a beautiful beach near the bar district where the sand was so fine it felt like powder beneath our feet! (Another guilty pleasure--going to work in flip flops.) Congratulations you two! From all the secrets we learned about you from the rehearsal dinner speeches at the Fiesta Americana, we've decided that we'll have to play a round of UNO the next time we see each other so we can see how competitive you guys really are. We'll bring the guacamole.
And here are couple photos from the day-after session:

Before you scroll down, catch your breath. Because Susan and Erich's wedding will take your breath away. In front of the most beautiful view of Napa Valley at the Auberge du Soleil, Susan and Erich said their vows before close family and friends, just as the morning clouds parted for the sun. Everybody would agree it was magical. And also a tear fest. We loved it. The special day ended with a casual barbecue with the wedding guests at the bride and groom's villa. Did I mention, this villa is a MANSION at the top of a MOUNTAIN? Although the drive up nearly made us wet our pants, the view from up there left us speechless...and then the two of them rocked (ROCKED) our portrait session. You guys are awesome. Thanks for sharing your amazing wedding with us, and for flying us out to Napa Valley for a wonderful weekend!
Let me introduce you to this couple, Larissa and Grant. Larissa is from
Germany and Grant is in the Navy. Although this was a destination
wedding for me, Larissa and Grant both live in Hawaii so they know all
the hottest places to eat and take guests out. The wedding was taken
place at Moli'i Gardens in Kualoa Ranch, which is minutes away from Chinaman's Hat.
It was a small intimate wedding so we got to know the guests pretty
well. The landscape and scenery was more than I could ask for. Just
beautiful. Well, anything is better than taking pictures in NJ right?
Hawaii might sound fun and exotic, but there are some trade backs that
I am still facing like extreme jetlag, uneven tan lines, and my skin
peeling like a reptile.
We'll start this set with an HDR (2 stops of light) landscape portrait.

Story behind this picture is that Larissa showed an image of this lady to the hair stylist and told her she wanted her hair to be like this lady. The hairstylist freaked out. We all had a really good laugh out of it. Such a great way to start out on the day of the wedding!
