We have had the privilege to witness and experience so many cultural weddings during our time as photographers, and seeing all the different kinds of festivities and traditions is always such a treat! We always knew that Filipino weddings meant one heck of a party on the dance floor, but it wasn't until Hannie and Jim's Central Park Boathouse wedding that we met the ultimate combo. This Filipino-Greek wedding just about knocked our socks off.

Hannie and Jim's wedding day started on a rather quiet note, getting ready with just a handful of their closest and dearest nearby (including their adorable pooch who was determined to be part of the spotlight). After an emotional First Look at the trendy Andaz Hotel on Fifth Avenue, it was time to get ready for the ceremony. With her brother on one arm, mother on the other, and her late father's ring in hand, Hannie began the dramatic walk down the aisle at St. Francis Xavier Church. I love that the bride chose to use her mother's passed-down Filipino wedding accessories for the unity cord and veil tradition--it was such a meaningful way to incorporate her "something old"! Alas, after the long-awaited pronouncement of husband and wife, it was time to party--Greek style.

Weddings at the Central Park Boathouse are nothing less than amazing. The scenery, food, and flowers were all spectacular. Throw in a live band, and then a Greek band on top of that, we knew this night would be a blast. Soon enough, there was money flying in the air, drums beating, voices shouting, and everybody was out of their seats, joining hands for the traditional "kalamatiano" dance. It might have been a first for many of their guests, but we could tell, this would be a night nobody would ever forget. What a way to celebrate such a momentous occasion!
