After we spent an afternoon with Karen and Don-Don for their engagement session in Central Park, we knew we were up for some fun surprises at this wedding. To start the night, the bride and groom planned a surprise dance choreography (to the theme song of Pirates of the Caribbean!) to wow their crowd....but what they didn't know was that, behind the scenes, their men of honor had also planned a surprise dance tribute (to the 90's!) that had us all falling over laughing! The best surprise was when they invited the groom to join their routine (smile)...and he blew our minds!
An emotional ceremony at St. Rose of Lima, followed by a romantic portrait session at Passion Puddle, and then an exhilarating dance-off at the Venetian--it was no surprise that this was the perfect way for Karen and Don-Don to start the rest of their lives together.
It was the last trip of our crazy summer, and what better way to finish than with a trip to the land of sunny days, beautiful valleys, and Pinkberry on every corner? We meet again, California!
Cora and John greeted us like old friends as we shared a delightful brunch together at Doug's, even though we were meeting for the first time just the day before their wedding! Following a morning of traditional tea ceremonies with each of their families, Cora's bridesmaids induced a mini boudoir session in her hotel room, just minutes before walking down the aisle--they were a ton of fun to work with and totally made my day! She met her soon-to-be-husband at a small park overlooking the San Francisco Bay Bridge, colored with bright parasols and live acoustic guitar to accompany their "I do"s. We also quickly learned that Cora is a fabulous dancer when her troupe surprised us all with a sexy choreography at the reception! It was a long day, but we were honored to be there for their big event; Cora and John, thank you so much for having us! Now, finally time to head back home and put our suitcases away for a while.

This was one wedding where we saw a whole lot of familiar faces, and that just made it even more fun to be a part of. Kelly and David tied the knot in the rose garden of Shadowbrook and celebrated with an exciting reception filled with blue drinks, hilarious games, and kids on a lot of sugar. David, being the talented musician he is, even wrote and recorded an original song for their first dance--and he couldn't help getting a little choked up himself! Couples musical chairs, colorful balloons, and funny costumes were all part of their festivities that guaranteed their guests a good, memorable time. We ended the day with portraits at the Monmouth University Library, where we discovered that an amazing sunset was overrated if we had the power to create it ourselves (smile). We had such a great time from the start and are so honored to have become friends throughout the process. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!
