From December 27-31, 17,000+ college students and young adults from all over the world gathered in the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO to worship together and seek after God's calling in their lives. InterVarsity's Urbana missions conference happens every 3 years to allow students to be empowered and actively participate in God's global mission. We had the privilege of serving on the media team this year (with 5 other photographers - Megan and Tim, Adam, Barry, Dave) to capture the moments and document this 5-day event. Even as my third time attending this conference, Urbana has always impacted me in an eye-opening and life-transforming way. Though our cameras cannot do justice to the magnitude of this experience, we'd like to share with you a glimpse of what we saw through our viewfinders.
If you did not attend Urbana 09, you can watch some of the main sessions on the Urbana 09 webcast.
Worship in sign language.
Students waiting for the doors to open on the night of the last session.
Native American Christian worship.
An overcrowded seminar room on the subject of "spiritual warfare".
The prayer lounge.
Students hold up glowsticks to represent their commitment to follow Christ.
17,000 people raising their cellphones.
You can view the rest of the images on our Urbana 09 Photo Slideshow. There are 400+ photos, so turn on some of your favorite Israel Houghton music (or any other upbeat praise songs) and enjoy! Play the Urbana 09 Photo Slideshow.
